There are steps that can help prevent mould and condensation in your home.

However, some problems with mould and condensation are due to underlying issues. If that’s the case, prevention and/or corrective techniques are unlikely to stop the problem. In this instance, please contact us.

If you have black mould caused by condensation in your home, try these steps to get rid of it:

  1. Wipe away the black spots of mould with a fungicidal wash. You can buy it from DIY shops and supermarkets. Follow the instructions and don't brush or vacuum the surface as this may spread the mould.
  2. After treating the area, redecorate it using an anti-mould paint.
  3. Keep your windows open to air the room, and take steps to prevent the condensation that causes mould.
  4. Monitor and treat the mouldy areas regularly. If there's still an issue after 8 weeks, please contact us.
